What's Being Used To Make The Frames
Awear eyewear uses bio-based plastic made from renewable sources instead of fossil fuels. Examples of these include corn, potatoes, soy, rice and vegetable oil. Awear uses the castor oil plant, which does not compete with food sources. Awear uses polylactic acid (PLA) which is an eco-friendly alternative to petroleum-based plastics. PLA is made from fermented cornstarch. Furthering PLA’s green value, it will not emit toxic fumes when incinerated in the recycling process. All of Awear’s cases are also made with recycled materials. The frames and cases for Awear are recyclable and/or biodegradable.
